A law graduate from the University of Kinshasa, Maître Dolores Kimpwene Sonia has a wealth of practical experience in Land Law and Real Estate law, labour law, intellectual property and business law related matters.
 
  • Attorney-at-law and Member of the Kinshasa-Gombe Bar since 2008, 
  • and of the Tanganyika Bar since 2018;
  • Licensed Industrial Property Agent;
  • Member of the editorial team of Codes Larcier of the Democratic Republic of Congo, online;
  • Contributor for the Democratic Republic of Congo to the World Bank’s Doing Business report;
  • Board Member of Credda (Centre for Research and Studies on the Development of the Law in Africa).
 
Maître Kimpwene Sonia manages the department that assists Étude Kabinda’s corporate clients in several steps (drafting joint venture agreements, setting up, operation, holding of general meetings and board meetings). She is also involved in financial and banking related matters, as well as in major transactions of large companies in natural resources and energy sectors, public procurement law, securities law, taxation and telecommunications law, as well as in complex due diligence assignments involving mergers and acquisitions of assets and liquidations of commercial companies. Maître Dolores Kimpwene Sonia has developed a particular expertise in corporate governance, thanks to her knowledge of corporate law emerging from OHADA. She assists Étude Kabinda’s clients with her knowledge of civil, commercial and tax litigation before DRC courts of law in which these clients are involved.
